1994-2008: Headbelly Buzzard

Spanning over a fourteen year period, Headbelly Buzzard developed a unique progressive/retro-gressive 'Old Time' stringband sound based on the dance and social music styles of the southern US mountains. During this time the band came to be known as Australia's premier 'Old Time' string band performing at many of the country's major music festivals and traditional music conventions.

For thirteen years the band held a Friday night residency at the Railway Hotel in North Fitzroy. Headbelly not only entertained but also inspired many other musicians to play 'Old Timey' music.

The album features twenty-four previously unreleased tracks representing the various recorded line-ups of the band. Headbelly Buzzard would like to thank all our friends and supporters, and those who have performed with the band over the years, but are not featured on these recordings. This album is dedicated to guitarist, singer and co-founder Mick Cameron.
