LAST NIGHT'S FUN: Simon Melia

CD

Simon Melia (19 August 1957 - 17 November 1994) plays G/D button accordion on all tracks.

Simon's music was almost always heard within a group setting, either in a band or more oftern at a session. The bulk of the material which surfacedin the preparation of this CD was of his band performances: gig tapes, band rehearsals tapes, demo tapes, album and radio projects.

The compilation is designed to encompass as wide a range of Simon's playing as was possible to collect.

The finished product contains the essential ingredients of a favourite Simon melia session: a rake of reels, some jigs, polkas, hornpipes, a few songs and more reels.

We hope you find this compilation contains at least a little of the spirit of Simon and his music, and that it is a fitting tribute to a wonderful musical talent.

Proceeds form the sale of this CD will go into a special trust fund to benefit Simon's children.

Compilation and pre-production: John McAuslan and Tony Hargreaves
Studio production: Tony Hargreaves and Hugh McDonald
